Thanks for visiting my site!
I am finishing my second year teaching at Arnold Mill Elementary school in Cherokee County Ga. I teach general music K-5 to 840 students as well as Chorus and Percussion Club.I previously taught at Centennial Elementary School in Atlanta, Georgia. I spent my one year of observation and student teaching at Carmel Elementary School in Cherokee County while attending Kennesaw State. I live in Woodstock with my family and my two cats, Ivan and Fluffy.
I completed my Bachelor of Music Education, Choral Emphasis, at Kennesaw State University in 2019. Prior to that I spent 6 years volunteering as a teacher with the 300 member children’s choir at my home church, where I developed my love of teaching and working with elementary students. I have always wanted to specialize in teaching elementary music. I truly enjoy my work.
Growing up in a very large choir program starting at age three gave me many opportunities to observe and form opinions about how to teach music to elementary students and what types of performances are beneficial for them. As a member of a small auditioned ensemble within the larger choir, we had many outside performance opportunities, including a Christmas choral performance at the Governor’s Mansion and another time at Phillips Arena, providing choral backup vocals for the band Casting Crowns in their holiday concert.
